Programs
Effective December 2022, Red Cross will no longer offer its swim programs. As a result, starting in Summer 2023, we will be transitioning to the Swim for Life Program offered by the Canadian Lifesaving Society. The goal of the lifesaving society is to develop basic swimming and lifesaving skills. All students will receive a report card outlining their progress at the end of each session. Our lessons are designed to meet the needs of each swimmer and our goal is to promote a love of swimming and water safety in a caring and fun environment.
Parent & Tot Program
Parent & tot programs emphasize the importance of play in developing water-positive attitudes and skills.

Parent & Tot 1 (4-12 months)
Parent & Tot 2 (12-24 months)
Parent & Tot 3 (2-3 years)

Preschool Program
(ages 3 – 5 years)
In the 5-level preschool program, swimmers will learn about water safety, shallow/deep water entries and exits, submersion, front/back floats and glides. Swimmers will be able to successfully swim 5 metres of front crawl and 5 metres of back crawl continuously.

Swimmer Program
(ages 5 – 12 years)
This 6-level program will help swimmers develop the 3 basic swim strokes (front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke), underwater swims, shallow/deep water entries and exits, and treading water. Swimmers will be challenged to increase their fitness and endurance while learning about water safety.

Fitness Swimmer
This program is for swimmers of any age who want to improve their overall physical fitness in the water and be active for life. Fitness swimmer provides a structured approach to improving physical fitness and interval training.
Adult Swimmer
This program is customized to participants’ goals and rate of progress. Lessons will be tailored to develop and improve stroke techniques and endurance.
